From the group that brought you the fabulously successful Taste of Friendship Heights (in conjunction with the FH Village Center), FHUN is getting another early start on the holidays. So come celebrate with your FHUN "family" members at Sushi-Ko, Lia's Restaurant, and Bambule in our third annual bar/restaurant hop!!! We'll move from one great establishment to the next, celebrating Halloween late and Thanksgiving early with food, drinks, and cheer! Great food, creative drinks, entertaining games, and fabulous prizes will highlight the evening, as we gobble our way thru the restaurants in Friendship Heights! Discounted food and drink specials will help keep spirits high. We hope to see all of you there!

Directions: From Metro, Red Line Friendship Heights stop take the Western Avenue exit (escalators straight ahead).

No Rail on the Trail 10K Run -AND- A Walk on the Trail Towards Silver Spring
No Rail on the Trail 10K is supporting efforts to preserve the Capital Crescent Trail as a continuous and serene, tree-lined Trail and is raising public awareness of plans for construction of the Purple Line along the section of the Trail between Bethesda and Silver Spring.
To be clear, efforts to preserve the Trail are not anti-transit and are not opposed to the Purple Line. Studies have documented that there are more than 10,000 uses of the Trail between Bethesda and Silver Spring every week. No Rail on the Trail 10K urges our public officials to preserve this irreplaceable greenspace, and build the Purple Line between Bethesda and Silver Spring in another location or tunneled underground.

START Location: Start and finish at the Capital Crescent Trail Head in Bethesda (4800 Bethesda Ave.), by water fountain, next to Ourisman Honda. Run to MacArthur Blvd. and back.

Guided Walk on Trail toward Connecticut Avenue/ Trestle over Rock Creek Park A Walk with information along the way about the impacts of the proposed Purple Line on the Trail between Bethesda and Silver Spring.
Time: 9:00 - 10:30 am (We\'ll leave after the race begins and return for the race awards.
Meet at the Trail head between 8:30 and 8:45.
Location: Begins at the Capital Crescent Trail head across from Barnes and Noble in Bethesda. Purpose: This is a free guided Walk along the Trail towards Silver Spring for families and children of those in the race, for those who want to show support for the Trail, and for those who want to learn more about the impacts of the proposed Purple Line on the Trail and the trees. We\'ll watch the 10K participants take off at 9:00, and then take a guided walk toward the Trestle over Rock Creek Park -- how far we get will depend on the time. There will be hand-outs, and guides will discuss the impacts of the Purple Line on the Trail, trees, wildlife, water and air quality. We\'ll return to Bethesda in time for the Race Awards at 10:30. 4th Annual FHUN BBQ
Hello, FHUN members!
Four years and still running strong - all thanks to our FHUN members who have supported the Friendship Heights Urban Network through these years! As a thank you to all of our members for your continued support of our FHUN young professional organization, we will be hosting the 4th Annual FHUN BBQ at Page Park on Saturday, June 13, 2009 at 1pm! (Rain Date: Sunday, June 14 @ 1pm)
Regular Admission Fee = $5.00
RSVP by Midnight May 31 and Admission Fee = $3.00
And, there will be no additional charges!!!
What -you ask- will FHUN be providing for its FHUN members? Well, we are currently working on donations with area restaurants and grocery stores to provide the following items:
- BBQ Hamburgers and hot dogs donated by Alfio's, Rodman's and Giant Grocery Store
- Burritos, guacamole, chips & salsa donated by Chipotle

3rd Annual Taste of Friendship Heights
A showcase of the area's premiere restaurants!
On behalf of FHUN, you are all invited to the 3rd Annual Taste of Friendship Heights! The event will be held Saturday, September 12th from 12 noon to 5pm.
Participating restaurants include: Rock Creek, Lia's, Indique Heights, Potomac Pizza, Alfio's, Maggiano's, Bambule, and Giffords!
Food and drink tickets will be sold for $1 a piece, with no food or drink item costing more than 3-4 tickets. A portion of the proceeds from the event will be donated to the Community Council for the Homeless at Friendship Place (www.cchfp.org).
Entertainment at the event includes live music, a moon bounce and face painting by "Bows the Clown". The American University basketball team will be on site to shoot hoops with kids.
Local sponsors include Sunrise Brighton Gardens, Starbucks, M&T Bank, Georgetown Running Company, Washington Sports Club, Chevy Chase Florist and Wisconsin Place (the new development in Friendship Heights). Come by and check out the sponsors during the event--many will have great give-aways!
